I’m so excited to share today’s product review with you because these products aren’t your average, run-of-the-mill sexual wellness toys. Meet, Zumio! A company that prioritizes the sexual gratification of aging vulva owners who might be experiencing changes in their bodies—but they aren’t just for the lovely older crowd. I can attest that these products are incredible, different than anything else I’ve ever used, and absolutely worth it. And, even though they were created with vulva-owners in mind, these products can be used by anyone and everybody.

I’ll be giving you the rundown on each product, how they differ from each other, what I loved about them, and a bit about Zumio‘s story. Without further ado, it’s time to learn about a company that is expanding the idea of *vibrators*.

Who is Zumio?

Zumio is a design-led team that started with a desire to create an experience unlike any other product on the market. So, they set out to design a product that mimicked the natural rotation of a finger during clitoral masturbation—which helps explain Zumio’s unique shape and nature. They hoped this design style would empower vulva-owners to explore their overall body and hopefully help them orgasm on a whole new level.

The original concept for Zumio first started developing in 2013, and after two years of research, they began testing different designs and products on vulva owners ranging in age from 20 to 75. In 2016 they introduced their first two official products—the Zumio X and Zumio S. Zumio E made its appearance in 2019, and Zumio I in 2020. Zumio is primarily a woman-led company that hopes to not only promote pleasure for women but pleasure and exploration for all bodies.

Meet the Products:

What sets this vibrator apart from other vibrators, you might be wondering? Well, it’s technically not a vibrator at all!

Zumio offers four different spins on their products—the X, S, I, and E. Each has a unique tip and rotates in different directions. Each tip provides direct, intentional contact to the desired area and creates a stimulation that differs from a classic vibrator.

I’ll be honest, the first time I saw a Zumio, I was a bit turned off by it. Instead of a soft silicone exterior (like most vibrators), it has a more rigid plastic one—plus, the tip! The tip is unlike anything I had ever seen. And though it feels incredible (and I mean incredible), trying a product designed like this was a first for me! But since trying, I’ve come to love these products.

Zumio takes a while to get used to if you are someone who generally uses other forms of vibrators. And even as someone who has worked in the sex education world for years, I had to take some time exploring with the Zumios. The intentionality of the tips is something I don’t think I’ve seen matched by any other toy—so if you’re a vulva owner who loves intense clitoral stimulation, I encourage you to try one or all of them out!

The Zumio X’s tip is round, hard, and plastic. This baby is firm. Remember how I mentioned that Zumio’s products don’t vibrate, they rotate? Well, this will make them a little wonky to get used to at first (and that’s okay!). This toy is fantastic for vulva mapping and great for getting to know your body!

This model is a toy that is easy to come back to time and time again—it’s a classic go-to because of the big tip. It’s incredible for vulva owners, nipple play, and other forms of exploration!

Zumio S:

The S, or the Sadie, has a bit more of a broader tip. This tip is covered in silicone (unlike the X, which is plastic!), so it will have a bit of a softer touch. Zumio describes the S on their website as a broad, even stimulation. There are eight different intensities to this baby (yes, really!)—which means that no matter what your preference is, you will likely be able to find your perfect speed!

Zumio E:

The E, or the Ethel, is the most pin-pointed stimulation out of the four Zumio models. The Ethel is also a bit flatter than the other models with rounder tips. The E, like the X, has very pin-pointed stimulation—the difference is in the tips! They provide different kinds of intentional stimulation, and both are fabulous!

Zumio I:

The Zumio I, or the Iyana, is shaped very similar to a little spoon. So, you get a little bit of both instead of just a rounded tip or just a flat tip! The I’s tip is also made of hard plastic, giving it more of that direct, intense stimulation.

Roundup Time

Let’s do a little Zumio roundup, shall we?

  • All the Zumios have eight levels of intensity (!!!)
  • They all work on every single body
  • All the Zumios have a travel lock so you can take your pleasure with you
  • All of the Zumios are entirely waterproof
  • The only difference between each Zumio product is the tip, the material the tip is made out of, and the tip’s size. Otherwise, these babies all rotate and all bring different types of stimulation and pleasure!
  • While these products can be used by anyone and on every body, they were made with specifically post-menopausal women in mind, which is AMAZING.

And there you have it—that’s Zumio! I highly encourage you to head to their website and learn even more about this incredible company. And if you buy a Zumio, let me know!
